Located in the middle of ChaoYang District right between the east of the second and third ring road, this area is probably the most popular. The crowd is very diverse, from students, travelers, foreigners working in China and expats in general. They all come to ChaoYang on the weekend. SanLiTun is a street of bars and restaurants, very much touristic and therefore expensive. The main street is packed with pedlars, beggers and young Chinese people who will invite you to check out the bar they are working for, insisting it's the best one on SanLiTun Bar Street. It is most recommended to get your self out of the main street to the west alley of SanLiTun. There you will find some great dance bars, food stands and restaurants. Another area you might want to check out is SanLiTun south rd. Turn south on the intersection with GongTiBeiLu and look to your left. Workers' Stadium rd. north (GongTiBeiLu) is a main road intersecting with SanLiTun. On it are some of the best dance bars Beijing has to offer. They are located west the intersection with SanLiTun at the north gate of the Workers Stadium. Tip: Don't confuse Workers' Stadium with Workers' Gymnasium. They are very close to one another and it happens all the time. Remember that Workers' Stadium has a giant football at the entrance. Directions - The best way to get to SunLiTun and Workers Stadium area is by taxi. If you want to save a few kuais you can take the subway, get off at DongSiShiTiao (exit X) and you will find yourself at the beginning of GongTiBeiLu. From there you can take a taxi\bus or walk for about 20 min. |
